How paying works
The details, in the same words as the terms.
- Who counts as a seat
- Each person in at least one of your organization’s workspaces. Someone in two workspaces counts once, and pending invitations don’t count.
- Changing the team
- Add or remove people at any time. The difference is settled with your next bill instead of a charge for each change.
- The trial
- Every new organization gets 90 days of Spindle Cloud for free, with every feature and no card. If you subscribe during the trial, the first payment comes when it ends.
- Monthly or yearly
- €5 per person a month, or €50 per person a year, which is two months free. Each renews until it’s cancelled.
- Early-adopter price
- Organizations that sign up while this price is on keep it for as long as they exist, also if they cancel and subscribe again later. When the price for new organizations changes, theirs doesn’t.
- VAT and invoices
- Prices include VAT where it applies. Paddle, our reseller, takes the payment, sends the invoices and handles VAT, and a business can add its VAT number.
- If you stop paying
- The organization becomes read-only: everyone can still sign in, read their time, run reports and export. Nothing is deleted, and subscribing opens it up again. After 12 months read-only it is deleted, with emails 30 and 7 days before.
- Cancelling and refunds
- Cancel at any time, and it works until the end of the period you paid for. You can ask for a full refund within 14 days of your first payment or of a yearly renewal.

Is there a free plan?
No. Spindle Cloud is free for 90 days, with every feature, and then €5 per person a month or €50 a year. Running Spindle on your own server is free, with every feature too.
Do I need a card to start the trial?
No. The trial needs no card. You only enter payment details when you choose a plan, during the trial or after it.
Will my price go up later?
Not if you sign up now. €5 a month and €50 a year is our early-adopter price: an organization that signs up while it is on keeps it for as long as it exists, also if it cancels and comes back. A later price change applies only to organizations that sign up after it.
Are there plans with fewer features?
No. There is one price, and it includes every feature, for one person or for fifty. Spindle Cloud and your own server run the same app.
Is there a discount for larger teams, nonprofits or schools?
Everyone pays the same price per person, and there are no volume discounts. If you are a nonprofit or a school, write to hello@threennovate.com.
What happens to my data if I stop paying?
The organization becomes read-only. Everyone can still sign in, read their time, run reports and download everything, and subscribing makes it fully usable again. An organization that stays read-only for 12 months is deleted, and its owners and admins are emailed 30 and 7 days before.
Who handles the payment?
Paddle, our online reseller and the merchant of record. It takes the payment, sends the invoices with VAT where it applies, and answers questions about them.
Do the prices include VAT?
Yes, where VAT applies. €5 a month is what a person in the EU pays, VAT included.
Can I run Spindle on my own server instead?
Yes, for free. Spindle is open source under AGPL-3.0 and runs from one Docker image and a Postgres database, with every feature. You look after the server, the updates and the backups yourself.
